Living the Legacy

Mandela Mondays

As we continue to pray for Madiba and inspired by LIVING THE LEGACY, let us draw strength from his wisdom, teachings and philosophy thus continue to live his truth by engaging selflessly to spread wisdom, love and peace.  We should all focus on positivity and remember great Madiba moments and be grateful for the values he inspires as detailed in the Charter of Positive Values:

  •   Respect Human Dignity and Equality
  •   Promote Responsible Freedom, the Rule of Law and Democracy
  •   Improve Material Well-being and Economic Justice
  •  Enhance Sound Family and Community Values
  •  Uphold Honesty, Integrity and Loyalty
  •   Ensure Harmony in Culture, Belief and Conscience
  •  Show Respect and Concern for all People
  •   Strive for Justice, Fairness and Peaceful Co-Existence
  •   Protect the Environment.

At the same time let us continue to pray and support his family during these difficult times

The most important legacy of Madiba that we can keep alive is the 67 minutes of service on Mandela Day as well as on Mandela Mondays

The call to service is to accelerated the spirit of selfless service consistently thus entrenching, honouring, celebrating and driving his lifelong commitment to freedom and service to all

During this time we need to reflect on the hands that contributed to building South Africa and remember the 50 year anniversary of Madiba being on Robben Island as well as the forgotten Trial before Rivonia.

This is also a wonderful opportunity to inspire the love of reading by encouraging South Africans, especially the young people to read.

Let us entrench Madiba’s pillars consciously in all we do, say and think:

·         Inequality
·         Poverty Alleviation
·         Literacy

MANDELA MONDAYS

The concept of Mandela Mondays is to urge people everywhere to spend as little as five minutes every Monday doing something small to change someone's life, some community or some part of the environment for the better.
Nelson Mandela Foundation ex-chief executive Achmat Dangor said it remains the work of the foundation to affect change within communities, empowering them to change the world around them.
"Each Monday, give a small amount of your time, wherever you can, to spreading the message that change is in your hands," Dangor said.

The hands that serve are holier than the lips that pray
