THE VAAL’S ONE DAY LEADER FINALIST
VEREENIGING. - SABC1 is about unearthing and nurturing young talent in Mzansi. The One Day Leader project is another platform the channel has utilized to identify and develop young dynamic leaders of tomorrow. The show focuses on the public’s attention on critical social and economic issues facing the nation.
Ndumiso Hadebe, a 21-year-old from Arconpark, is one of the finalists on the show. Hadebe has done a lot of work in assisting the community such as being a youth leader at Word of life Baptist Church, councillor, and mentoring young people through the Word of God.
He is involved in a youth organisation in conjunction with Sedibeng East municipality aimed at empowering young people through workshops driven by education.
On a day-to-day basis he reminds himself of the size and impact of this opportunity. Having been working with young people from communities, high schools and institutions of higher learning across the country for the past 5 years, he surely has experienced and realised how much young people need to determine the course of their own lives.
Hadebe says, “I want to use this platform to serve, inform and inspire a new kind of leader, a new kind of young person and a new generation of young people who are driven to become masters of their own destiny.
“Success to me has nothing to do with monetary or material wealth but the ability to make a difference in one person’s life.”
He is also a big sports fanatic who loves music and singing, leadership and governance.
He is currently doing his final year at the North West University and studying Bcom Economics International Trade. His life is centred around people, working with them, experiencing challenges with them and being of service to them.
