The Honourable Minister of Arts & Culture, Nathi Mthethwa and Acting
Director General Mr Vuyo Jack will be launching the Creative Arts Incubators
Programme in Africa Month to give impetus on the importance of community
development using the Arts.
The launch will be at ArtsCape on Monday,
18 May 2015.
This is part of the implementation of the Mzansi Golden Economy strategy
that aims to unleash the economic potential of the creative sector through
large-scale investment.
Essentially, the Arts Incubators will provide a platform for the sector
to create employment and provide skills and training towards economic self-reliance.
Also, the incubators will enable the sector to develop and measure the
output of locally developed content in terms of music, artworks, films, arts
and craft and stage productions amongst other artistic disciplines.
