Never meant as a long-term solution, this was the start of a 12 year nightmare for them both. Kim battled her addictions while trying to get her daughter back. By 2007 Kim was clean, sober and felt she could fight for Sam and this is what she did. It was a long, hard battle with the authorities, but a longer battle with many scars for Sam and Kim who have faced alternative lifestyle, abandonment and trust challenges. They share their solutions with us.
