Shift on SABC1 Monday 1st October at 13h30 looks at the Advertising Industry

The advertising industry is steadily shifting towards a consumer orientated focus where the consumer is king. Over the years the advertising industry has changed and grown. Advertising focuses on certain target markets, a combination of demographics and psychological profiling. Advertising contains a greater depth of information regarding consumer behavior. There are a lot of career paths that one can follow within the advertising industry.

Shift find out about the South African Advertising Research Foundation. Studio guests range from copywriter, strategist and an art director. Advertising does not exist in isolation but is influenced by and in turn influences the context it finds itself in. According to myfundi.co.za the South African industry is feeling pressure to transform itself to meet and reflect the realities of the new South Africa. In studio we find out if our guests think that there is enough representation of women in the industry and are there enough people of colour represented in the creative side of advertising apart from being the stars of the adverts.
