Siyayinqoba Beat It! on 24th May looks at Gender Violence.

A 78 year-old woman in a remote village in the Eastern Cape tells how she was infected with HIV after being raped in her house by a group of young men.

In Kwazulu/Natal a young man speaks about how he used to abuse woman and how he came to change his ways after joining a men’s group that sensitized him to issues of gender inequality.

 Siyayinqoba Beat It! is a weekly TV show for everyone living with HIV and AIDS, as well as their partners, families, friends and care givers.

 Since 1999 the show has provided a platform for people living with AIDS to share their challenges and victories.

 Many people living in isolation with HIV find that through Siyayinqoba Beat It! they are part of a vibrant and growing community of people who are meeting and beating the challenges of AIDS.

 Siyayinqoba Beat It! is broadcast on SABC1 Thursdays at 13h30 and produced by Community Media Trust in partnership with SABC Education.
