Africa Day is celebrated around the world every year on 25th May. The aim is to celebrate African diversity and success and to highlight the cultural and economic potential that exists on the African continent.

On Tuesday 29 May 2012 Shift asks ‘Should Africa Day be made a public holiday on our continent? Answer Yes or No to Shift on SABC 1 at 13h30? Today on Shift we want you to get involved in recognizing and supporting the importance and meaning of this day

. We will talk to fellow Africans from our continent about how we can unify Africans to a common and shared goal of growth, development and prosperity for all Africans.

We would also like you to get involved by giving ideas on how we can demolish any divisions that create animosity, differences and prejudices amongst Africans on our continent. Join us to discuss the important issue if what does it mean to be an African in 2012 and beyond.
