The SABC in partnership with 1Goal support President Jacob Zuma as he rallies World Leaders to support the 1Goal 'Education For All' initiative, cross all the Radio and TV platforms.
In 2000, 164 world governments came together to create the 'Education for All' goals. Furthermore, 189 governments also created the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. Two of the eight goals involve ending poverty through education: "to ensure that all boys and girls complete primary schooling by 2015 and that girls have the opportunity for education at all levels by 2015."

It is estimated that 72 million children in the world are still not in school - 33 million in Africa alone.
The campaign, which is part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, seeks to ensure that every child worldwide has the opportunity to go to school and learn, by canvassing support from the public, footballers and celebrities to make a united plea to all governments to meet their target on 'Education for All'.
The public has been urged to SMS the word 'Goal' to 31970, to pledge their support. No donations required, just a show of support. The First Citizens are encouraged to pledge their support by sending an SMS to the dedicated number to join the campaign.
Morning Live has been promoting the campaign, urging the public to pledge their support. The campaign has also been carried by various SABC Radio stations and other television shows.
The President will address leaders at a Summit in Pretoria on Sunday the 11th of July urging them to meet their goals. The Summit will offer world leaders a chance to draw up a roadmap to ensure that every child is in school by the time the 2014 FIFA World Cup takes place in Brazil.
Everyone needs to join the 1Goal campaign and pledge their support of leaders as they make good on their promise to deliver education for all by 2012.
