Shona McDonald the founder of ShonaQuip specializes in wheelchairs for children. The company was founded by Shona when her daughter who was born with cerebral-palsy needed specially designed padding to support her seating position to avoid damage to her spine.  We meet Indiphile who received her specially designed wheelchair from ShonaQuip on Mandela Day 2014!

Sibongile, a receptionist in JHB cannot move the joints on her legs and arms and has to live her life from a wheelchair. She has lived a full life with a husband, child, work and friends. This extraordinary woman is bright and up beat regardless of her every day struggles which include using public transport.

It is amazing to see some of the struggles that disabled people deal with, yet they remain strong, they persevere and offer real lessons to all South Africans.  For comments and suggestions, e-mail us at talksa@sabc.co.za
