The Department of Basic Education recently awarded the SABC with a certificate of appreciation for their participation in The National Teacher Awards.
The National Teacher Awards is one of the ways in which the Department of Basic Education acknowledges and encourages dedicated and caring teachers in their efforts to develop each learner as a citizen of a democratic, non-racial and non-sexist South Africa.
The Department of Basic Education salutes all schools and teachers who have entered the awards and acknowledge their extraordinary efforts achieved often under very difficult conditions and in service to our children, many of whom come from poor communities.
Danie Swart, Pontsho Makhetha, Surekha Singh and Yvonne Kgame received the award on behalf of the SABC.
